Due to continued extreme cold, FCS will remain CLOSED on Friday, 1/30/26.

  • Today marks our 7th calamity day. In accordance with current board policy, any days that are missed after the 5th calamity day must be made up. At this time, up to three days may be made up through remote learning. As a result, Friday, 1/30/26 will be FCS Remote Learning Day #2.
  • Regarding student expectations for remote learning days and associated assignments, building principals will share details with families. This information will be communicated via ParentSquare.
  • Please continue to stay safe and warm.

 

Due to the current weather conditions, the scheduled regular Board Meeting for January 26, 2026, in the Franklin High School Media Center on 140 E 6th St, Franklin, OH 45005 will be postponed and rescheduled for February 2, 2026. The rescheduled regular meeting on February 2, 2026 will also be held in the Franklin High School Media Center on 140 E 6th St, Franklin, OH 45005 and will begin at 6 p.m. 
 

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration 2026-2027 School Year

Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year will begin on April 07 for all students turning five on or before the first day of school. Parents may begin the online pre-registration process on March 30, 2026.

Parents/guardians should complete the online pre-registration process beginning Tuesday, April 7. If you do not have a computer, one will be available at the Welcome Center.   Once you have completed the online registration, you will be required to make an appointment.

The following documents are required for registration:

  • Original Birth Certificate
  • Custody Papers/Court-Ordered Placement (if applicable) (Divorce Decree, date-stamped and signed by judge /magistrate). Note:  If you are in the process of acquiring custody, you must have documentation from the court confirming that legal proceedings have been initiated. There is a 60-day legal completion process for the student to continue enrollment at Franklin City Schools.
  • Shot/Immunization Records
  • Parent/Guardian Driver’s License
  • Proof of Residency (Rental/Lease Agreement, Settlement Statement, Land/Purchase Contract, Copy of Deed, Current Electric or Water Bill. The items listed are the only items that will be accepted.

 Students will not be admitted until all the above requirements have been met.

We strongly encourage families to complete the registration of their kindergarten students as soon as possible to assist in the proper placement of all students. If you have any questions, please call Central Registration at 937-743-8602.

Franklin's Early Education Fair -- April 26, 11 to 1

Little Cats, Big Minds is back for our 4th annual event! This event will be targeted at children ages 0-5 who live in Franklin and will be future Wildcats! It is for all current kindergartners as well (even if they are 6).  It will be held at Franklin Junior High on Saturday, April 26, from 11-1 pm. We will have several booths with activities, food, and raffle prizes for the families. At each booth, there will be an activity for the families to participate in, and they will be receiving an activity to work on at home too.
