Ashley Blevins is serving her first full term on the Franklin Board of Education. As a lifelong resident of Franklin and a proud graduate of Franklin High School (Class of 2001), I am deeply invested in the success of our schools and community. My commitment to education and student success comes not only as a school board member but also as a parent of two children in the district—Gunner (8th grade) and Blakley (3rd grade).
Since June 2019, I have served as Deputy Clerk at Franklin Municipal Court, working for the City of Franklin. My professional experience has strengthened my dedication to public service, transparency, and effective communication—values I bring to my role on the school board.
My husband, Ryan Blevins, is also a Franklin graduate, and together, we are proud to raise our family in the same community that shaped us. Outside of my work on the board, you can often find me attending my children’s extracurricular activities or volunteering my time for the schools. I believe that strong schools are the foundation of a thriving community, and I am committed to working collaboratively to ensure every student has the support and resources needed to succeed.

John Wheeler, FHS Class of 2009, is serving his first term on the Franklin Board of Education. He’s a 2015 graduate of Bowling Green State University (BS in Education in Adolescent/Young Adult Education Chemistry and Life Sciences); he received his MS in Education for Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Dayton in May 2019. He’s a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisor Designation (LPCC-S) with a private practice in Dayton.
John considered running for the school board for several years and hopes to bring new perspectives and thoughts to help during this tumultuous time.
His community involvement includes volunteering with the FHS color and winter guard programs since 2009 and serving as a visual designer for the Franklin Marching Band since 2023. Since 2020, he has served as a Precinct Election Official (PEO) as Voting Location Manager and has been a troubleshooter for the Lebanon area since 2023.
He said he feels “Wildcat Pride” when he sees community members, coaches, staff, and teachers who are donating time, money, and resources to keep the district’s athletic activities going despite the ongoing financial burden being faced by the failing levies. “During trying times, I know the community will continue to support its students no matter what challenges we continue to face. That’s 100% something to be proud of.”
He noted two challenges to his new position: having a lot to learn and the ongoing challenge of how to fund the school district. He said the biggest joy is acknowledging the achievements of students and staff.
John loves different cultures, travels when he can, and has visited Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Costa Rica, and Scotland.
