Federal Mandates
Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)
ESEA is a comprehensive piece of federal legislation that provides funding to support primary and secondary education in the United States. The current reauthorization of ESEA is the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). ESEA programs aim to improve educational opportunities for all students, with a particular focus on those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
-
This is a core component of ESEA, providing funding to schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families to help them meet academic standards.
-
Focuses on teacher and principal quality, providing funding for professional development and other support.
-
Provides funding for language instruction programs for English language learners.
-
Supports a range of activities to enhance student well-being, including access to a well-rounded education, a safe and healthy learning environment, and technology initiatives.

English Language Learners
There is a growing population of students in the area where English is not the language spoken at home. This can make it difficult for students to understand the information presented in the classroom. We are here to help! HOMELESS STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
The McKinney-Vento Act is part of Title VII, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. This federal program defines homelessness as individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.
If you believe this describes your living situation, please contact our Homeless Liaison, Novalee Hillard, at (937) 746-1699. She will be able to give you information that may assist your family.
TITLE I
