Board of Education Meetings:

  • Work Sessions will be held the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Franklin High School Media Center.
  • Regular Board Meetings will be held the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Franklin High School Media Center.
  • No Work Session meeting scheduled in July or December.
  • All board meetings include time for public comments.

 

Special Board Meeting: The Board of Education of the Franklin City School District will hold a special meeting on January 7, 2026 at 5 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Franklin High School Media Center on 140 E 6th St, Franklin, OH 45005. The purpose of the meeting is to move the previously scheduled organizational meeting from January 12, 2026, to January 7, 2026, and to discuss potential tax levy options. The previously scheduled tax budget hearing will remain scheduled for January 12, 2026 at 5:45 p.m.

The Role of the Assistant Superintendent

The Office of the Assistant Superintendent supports the educational process in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, federal programs, and student services.

Curriculum and instruction encompass all activities related to student learning. This includes the content to be taught, instructional approaches, educational materials, and other educational experiences. Assessment responsibilities consist of overseeing all district and state-based assessment administration.  The assistant superintendent is also charged with organizing and providing professional learning opportunities for FCS staff.  Finally, the position oversees the direction of federal programs, including all federal grants.  

Student Services supports all students with special needs through the efforts of educational psychologists, counselors, the school nurse, speech-language pathologists, the media coordinator, gifted and talented teachers, academic intervention teachers, special education services, and alternative school placement services.
