Counseling

Alexandra (Xandi) Clinton is our K-2 Counselor.

School Counselor’s Goals: To help every child develop the social, emotional, and behavioral skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Through classroom lessons, small groups, individual support, and collaboration with families and staff, I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student feels valued, confident, and ready to learn. Together, we can help children build strong relationships, solve problems, manage emotions, and become kind, responsible members of our school community.

Student Support Services: Individual counseling, classroom guidance lessons, small groups, and referral to outside agencies.

School Counseling Referral:

Students may meet with the school counselor for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Learning to identify and manage emotions

  • Building friendship and social skills

  • Resolving conflicts with peers

  • Developing self-control and coping strategies

  • Managing worry, anxiety, or stress

  • Adjusting to changes at home or school

  • Building self-confidence and self-esteem

  • Practicing problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Developing organization and school success skills

  • Coping with grief or loss

  • Navigating family changes, such as divorce, separation, or a new sibling

  • Improving attendance or school engagement

  • Receiving support after a difficult or traumatic event

  • Learning self-advocacy and communication skills

  • Participating in short-term support for social, emotional, or behavioral concerns

Students may be referred by parents or guardians, teachers, administrators, or other staff members. In some cases, students may also request to meet with the school counselor themselves.
