Dear Franklin Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am honored to be serving the Franklin Community as the Principal of Schenck Elementary. This is my nineteenth year in education and fourth year as a Principal in Franklin. Before moving to Schenck Elementary, I served as the Principal of Gerke Elementary.

We are very excited to get your child off to a great start in education! We have a staff of dedicated professionals who are focused on meeting students where they are and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

This year Open House / Meet the Teacher will be August 20th from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

Students first day of school will be:

  • August 21st (Kindergarten, Last names beginning with A-K ONLY)
  • August 22nd (Kindergarten, Last names beginning with L-Z ONLY)
  • August 23rd (All Kindergarten students)

I encourage you to be involved in your child's education by becoming active in our PTO, volunteering in classrooms, or helping out at special events throughout the year. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please email me at JPohl@Franklincityschools.com or call our office at 937-743-8665.

We are looking forward to a great school year!
