May 20 Statement

Wildcat Families,

It is with profound sadness that we share some heartbreaking news regarding our school community. Today, Alicia Mailhot, Franklin Junior High School Principal, experienced the devastating loss of her son, Cole.

On behalf of the entire Franklin City School District, we extend our deepest sympathies and unwavering support to our colleague and their family. No words can adequately ease the pain of such a loss, but as a close-knit community, we mourn alongside Mrs. Mailhot.

As a district, our primary focus right now is supporting Mrs. Mailhot. Out of profound respect for the family’s privacy during this unimaginably difficult time, we will not be sharing further details. We kindly ask that our community join us in honoring their need for space, peace, and time to grieve privately away from public inquiries.

If the family chooses to share information regarding memorial arrangements or ways the community can offer support in the future, we will pass that information along only with their explicit permission.

Thank you for your understanding, your compassion, and for keeping her and her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.
