Board of Education Meetings:

  • Work Sessions will be held the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Franklin Junior High School Board Room.
  • Regular Board Meetings will be held the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Franklin High School Media Center.
  • No Work Session meeting scheduled in July or December.
  • All board meetings include time for public comments.

 

The Board of Education for Franklin City Schools will hold its already scheduled meeting for December 8 at the Franklin High School Media Center on 140 E 6th St, Franklin, OH 45005.

Franklin City Schools has the Following Open Positions for the 25-26 School Year:

  • Educational Aide positions at FHS, FJHS, Intermediate, Gerke and Schenck (7 hours)
  • Asst Cook positions at FJHS (Two- 6 hour positions and One-3 hour position)

 

Qualifications for Education Aide Positions:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold and maintain a valid Educational Aide Permit obtained from the Ohio Department of Education (ESEA Endorsement).
    • Hold a high school diploma and pass the ParaPro exam (submit your official ParaPro exam score report from Educational Testing Service (ETS); and/or
    • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, or last least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college or university. 
  • Working knowledge of or willingness to learn Google Suite Applications and Email.
  • Must pass criminal background check including fingerprinting
  • Has demonstrated regular attendance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  
  • Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid students.
  • Good health, high moral character, good attendance record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate tactfully and courteously and work harmoniously with students, parents, and district personnel.  
  • Completed Crisis Prevention-Intervention Training (CPI) or similar training or willing to be trained.

 

Qualifications for Asst. Cook Positions:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma (additional education preferred).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite,etc) or willingness to learn.
  • Three (3) years experience in institutional food preparation and service (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of food preparation, equipment operation, serving, cleaning, portion control, ordering, receiving and storage of food.
  • Must be trained in food safety, sanitation, and preparation consistent with county and state Board of Health regulations.
  • Must pass criminal background check including fingerprinting
  • Has demonstrated regular attendance.
  • Demonstrates a sincere desire to aid students.
  • Good health, high moral character, good attendance record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate tactfully and courteously and work harmoniously with students, parents, and district personnel. 
  • Must pass TB test and submit results from a licensed medical professional.   
  • Must pass and have on file the State of Ohio Food Protection Certificate.
  • Must meet Professional Standards required by the USDA.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

 

All expenses incurred for compliance (coursework, testing, etc.) shall be the responsibility of the employee or applicant.
