FCS K-12 Resource Expo to showcase partnerships and opportunities
Franklin City Schools will hold its first FCS Student Resource Expo: A K-12 Community Event to showcase community partners and resources available to Franklin City Schools. The event will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, 6 to 8 p.m., in the Franklin High School Commons (inside the front doors of the new building) and adjacent spaces including the FHS Media Center and the courtyard.
Students in grades Pre-K through 12 and their families are invited to this free event where they can visit booths and displays. Guests will be able to enter drawings for door prizes.
Dawn Harris, Franklin City Schools Gifted Coordinator, said, “Franklin City Schools is fortunate to have wonderful partners and community resources available to support and enrich our students’ educational experiences. We’re providing an opportunity for students and families to meet them to learn more about what’s available.”
Attendees confirmed to date include the Scouting America, Girl Scouts, Franklin First United Methodist Church Angel Shop and Free Clinic, the Franklin-Springboro Public Library, New Vine Help Center, Atrium YMCA Child Care, Gifted Services, TESOL, Franklin First Responders, Franklin SRO Officer Lacon and K9 Officer Maggie, Ohio Means Jobs, Franklin City Schools Food Services, Cincinnati MENSA, and Miami University Early College Academy. The building principals will be on hand for a meet-and-greet. Additional attendees will be announced closer to the event.

A Transition Fair for students and families to connect to resources to increase postsecondary success for employment, independent living, and higher education will be in the back gym at the same time. Some of the agencies that will be attending are Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Ohio Means Jobs, Sinclair Tartan TOPS, Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and Project Excel with Mount St. Joseph University. Please note that a volleyball game is scheduled at the high school at 5 p.m. on the same evening.
Student volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and direct visitors.
