VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Posted on: October 1, 2021 2:00 pm
Franklin High School is nearing a deadline to recruit a set number of volunteers to run an all day program at the high school on October 21st. We need your help. Without enough volunteers we will not be able to hold the program this year. The Franklin community is known for giving back and so we're hoping the importance of this day which focuses on social-emotional growth for our students will be something of value.

Be The Difference Day (formerly Re-Do Day) is at the high school on October 21st from 7:30am - 2:20pm. The program is run by the Changepoint organization and is for our sophomore class.
Changepoint’s programs help students move past the ignorance that empowers disrespect, harassment, intolerance, stereotyping and bullying by creating experiences and environments where they discover an authentic empathy for one another. By seeing life “through the eyes” of their classmates, they gain understanding and trade a critical attitude for a compassionate perspective.

The unique activities break down stereotypical barriers between students by enlightening them to the life stories of their classmates, resulting in inclusion and respect. Our program engages students to surface pain and adversity in their lives, and how to react to those situations positively. We provide the opportunity for conflict resolution and teach skills on giving affirmation.

The attached Sign Up Genius will provide further details about the day if you are interested in signing up. You may also go to the program's website for further details.
