Update from FHS 4/21/20

Posted on: April 21, 2020 1:00 pm
Good afternoon,
As I am sure you all have heard by this time, Governor DeWine has closed all schools in Ohio for face-to-face instruction for the remainder of the school year.  While I trust and support this decision, I am beyond sad to not get to see you all back in the hallways and classrooms this school year.  For our Seniors, I know this decision is even more heartbreaking, and we are doing everything we can to still plan Graduation, Prom, Senior Awards, and other events to show our love and support for the Class of 2020.

From a logistics standpoint, this means students will finish their school work for the 2019-2020 school year using the Distance Learning Framework outlined in the FHS Frequently Asked Questions Document, updated based on the Executive Order issued by Governor DeWine on Monday April 20th.

Students need to continue to do their work online.  If you need paper copies due to limited technology access, please inform your teachers ASAP.  Your teachers will get the work to myself and Mr. Voynovich for you to come and pick-up.

PLEASE NOTE that teachers are tracking students not completing their work.  Starting Tuesday April 21st, FHS Administration will be sending out Blackboard Connect messages every Tuesday to the families of students documented as not participating in their coursework by 3 or more of their teachers.  As of 12:30pm on April 21st, the first of these messages is scheduled to go out to 188 FHS students and their families.

In closing:
  • Please know we miss you and wish that we could see you all in person.
  • Please review the included FAQ thoroughly so you can stay informed about FHS specifics related to COVID-19.
  • Please continue to stay safe and well, and adhere to social distancing protocols to keep you and your families safe.
Sincerely,
