Premier Health Summer Medquest
We would like to invite students from Franklin High School interested in a health care career to participate in our upcoming career education event, Premier Health MedQuest.
Similar to education programs we have held in prior years, this event is designed to supplement area schools’ Science Technology Engineering Math and Medicine (STEMM) curriculum with unique educational experiences. This day-long, interactive learning experience will take place on Tuesday, June 21 from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, at Miami Valley Hospital. Students will be given the opportunity to explore principles of bio-medical sciences and healthcare careers. The agenda will be comprised of multiple rotations including career overviews by healthcare professionals as well as several hands-on simulation activities such as how to how to establish an open airway as well as how to close a surgical incision with sutures.
Please note that participation is open to all Premier Health partnership schools and is limited to the first 60 students who meet the registration criteria. Our experience has been that the most successful programs stem from engaged students with a genuine interest in the subject matter presented and/or those considering pursuing related career options. Please share this information with the appropriate teachers and students in your school.
Participation Criteria:
- Participating students should be enrolled in college prep classes focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine (STEMM)
- Students are to be current Juniors or Seniors in high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Attached you will find all required paperwork for student participation. Please provide the attached registration paperwork to any student you recommend attending the program.
