We are working very hard this year preparing the Schenck students to improve in all areas of learning. Each student is being tested three times this year in reading, and the teachers are using that information to prepare great lessons based on what reading level the students are working at. Here at Schenck through the dedication of the staff, the support of the parents, and the hard work of the students we want to move from an effective school to an excellent school. We will set our goals high knowing that working toward those goals will only make our school stronger and better.
Our PTO has been working with some fundraising the last three years to try and raise money for some new playground equipment. Through the hard work of the organization and our students we raised $4,600 this year toward new playground equipment. Also, we have received word that Schenck has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Middletown Community Foundation to assist us in the purchase and installation of new playground equipment. This is a big win for all the students and staff at Schenck Elementary and we are looking forward to having new equipment soon.
Continue to talk to your son or daughter about his or her learning experience at Schenck. We want each student to work hard to improve every day. I am excited about the great kids we have at Schenck, and our staff will work hard to give them a great education.
