About Our School

Welcome to Franklin High School, rated "Excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education. We are a member of the Southwestern Buckeye League (SWBL) and the High Schools That Work school improvement network. We have approximately 950 students, with some of that population attending the Warren County Career Center in Lebanon, Ohio.

Franklin High offers a wide variety of outstanding programs.   We offer AP courses in US History, English Literature and Composition, Chemistry, Calculus, Spanish and French.   We also have dual credit available from Sinclair Community College in English, Anatomy and Physiology, and a number of on-line electives.  Proficiency credit from Sinclair is offered in Spanish and French.

FHS has unique and innovative instructional delivery in special education, focusing on specially designed instruction needed to help students succeed.  We have a small but hard working and dedicated staff.

Our arts program has an innovative curriculum as well.  We offer courses in piano, dance, crafts, drawing, and painting in addition to standard course in art, instrumental music and vocal music.   We also offer Music Theory, History of Rock and Roll, and Show Choir (extra-curricular).

FHS offers extensive extra help opportunities to students.   We have a PASS period three times per week to provide students extra help in their most needed area of instruction.  Teachers regularly stay after school to help students.  Extra help is part of the culture at FHS.

Franklin High School is home to many great athletes and coaches.  Our boys’ basketball and football earned SWBL Championships in 2011-12.  Our boys’ basketball team in 2011-12 was undefeated during the regular season and participated in the prestigious Flying to the Hoop Classic.  Our cheerleaders were SWBL Champions as well.  Our girls’ bowling team advanced to districts.  Last year one of our swimmers advanced to the state meet.  Three FHS wrestlers advanced to the state tournament and our team was sectional runner up.   Our baseball team was regional runners-up in 2009 and 2010.

Staff at FHS strive to provide outstanding service to our students and families.  Please contact me at driegel@franklincityschools.com with any questions or concerns you may have about FHS.
